Captain Chuck Griffin has been a Charleston fishing guide for over 30 years and has spent his life fishing the inshore and offshore waters of Charleston South Carolina. He has also fished extensively all over the world for all of the largest and most powerful game fish. Captain Chuck also holds a United States Coast Guard 100 ton master captain's license. Captain Chuck offers private inshore and offshore fishing charters, dolphin watching, and Charleston harbor tours, from a few hours to full-day trips for one to six people. Barrier Island Eco Tours offers naturalist-guided tours to Capers Island Heritage Preserve. Our trips depart from the Isle of Palms Marina and take you through winding salt marsh, tidal creeks, and the Intracoastal Waterway to Capers Island.
Along the way, you learn about this amazing ecosystem and the plants and animals that call it home. Bottlenose dolphins, loggerhead sea turtles, and numerous birds are common sightings. Your guide pulls crab traps and throws cast nets to bring marine life onboard to put in our touch tank for closer examination.
The majority of our scheduled trips are aboard our covered 49-passenger pontoon boat equipped with a restroom and beaching ramp. We also offer inshore fishing and private eco tours on our 6-passenger and 16-passenger boats. Welcome aboard!

Isle of Palms Marina is located on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway, northeast of Charleston at Mile 456.5 and south of ICW Marker 116. The minimum depth of water in the channel is reported to be nine feet and the minimum depth in the basin is ten feet as well.
The marina has floating docks with rubber protection guards. In addition, the marina has slips reserved for transients as well as 300 feet of face dock alongside the restaurant that can accommodate larger vessels. Reservations are accepted. Call VHF 16 and dock personnel will assign a slip and assist you with docking. The staff is on duty during daylight hours.
Boat Rentals at Isle of Palms Marina
A variety of 16' to 25' boats are available for rental at Isle of Palms Marina including dual consoles, center consoles, and deck boats. Our boats can accommodate up to ten (10) people and can be rented hourly or daily. Discounted rates are given for half day, full day, or multiple day rentals. All boats are equipped with all U.S. Coast Guard required and approved safety equipment, a VHF radio and local chart. No prior experience is necessary to rent a boat. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
